Open Prison Doors - Grace or Law?
Which
are we to abide within?
Galatians 4:9
But now, after that
ye have known God, or
rather are
known of God, how turn ye
again to
the weak and
beggarly elements,
whereunto ye
desire again to be in
bondage?
Our Apostle, the
Apostle
Paul, is
writing to the
saints which are at
Galatia because he truly wants them
to
understand that they are to live
under grace, because
they
are free
in
Christ. He is very surprised that these
Gentiles are leaving the doctrine of the
grace of God,
which he preached unto
them, and they putting themselves back
under the law. The
Apostle Paul
explains the law as the
weak and
beggarly
elements, the reason for
this is that
there is no flesh that
could ever be
justified by the law,
no matter
what. So if we can?t be
justified by law, under
any
possibility, then why are we
trying
to live our
Christian
lives
under the
law. All the law does to
any
person
is condemn them, whether
they are a lost or
saved.
The law
always shows us all
of our
faults
and failures, and that
we can
not
live up to
the Laws
demands. So
we get filled
with
guilt and the joy
of our
life which is in Christ is
taken
away. This is the bondage that the Apostle Paul
is
referring to. It is like being a
prisoner but instead of enjoying our liberty
and freedom,
which is in Christ, we
continue to sit in the
jail cell
with an
open door, even though we
are free to
leave, and stay there
and and do nothing
but abide within
the law. That would
not make any
sense to us, and it does not
make
any sense
for a saint to live
under
the law
today.
Why? We are in
the
dispensation of the grace of
God.
Romans 3:20
Therefore
by the
deeds of the law
there shall
no
flesh be justified in his
sight:
for by the
law is the
knowledge of
sin.
Because we are in the
dispensation of the grace of God, we need to abide in the
Grace that God has
given to usward
by His Son, Jesus
Christ. If we do
not, then we will not
be
justified
by the
Law, nor by the
ways or eyes
of others who think themselves to
be
pillars
in the religious world. The
Law is a mirror in
a sense. It
reflects
all that is wrong in us,
and points
it out for us to see, as
well as those
around us. The
Apostle
Paul knew
that all too well when he wrote Romans
3:20.
Galatians
2:16
Knowing
that a man is not
justified by the
works of the law, but
by
the faith
of
Jesus Christ, even
we have
believed in Jesus
Christ, that
we
might
be justified
by the faith
of Christ,
and not by
the works of
the law:
for by the
works of the
law shall no
flesh be
justified.
You can see here in
Galatians
2:16 that the Apostle Paul
knew that there is
now way one
can
be
justified by the
Law. Not in
any way,
shape, fashion,
or form.
See the
first
part of
Galatians
2:16
"Knowing that a man
is not justified
by the works of the
law, but by the
faith
of Jesus Christ". Our Apostle
is
stating there is only one
way
that a
man can be justified,
and it
is not
by anything of the
Law, but
by
the
faith of
Jesus
Christ. That is why
Christ is
the Way, the Truth, and
the
Life. That is why He is the
Door.
That is why we must put
our trust and faith on
Christ, and
Christ alone. if we try
to get right
by the Law, we will
fall short.
We
will fail.
We will
not make it work!
Why? "for
by the works of the law
shall
no
flesh be justified" If
you have not been saved, let me
point you to the Risen
Savior, the
Lord Jesus Christ. Why
do you not
let Him make you free?
In
Him is
all Truth! So I leave you
with some verses of
Scriptures to
speak to you! It is my
prayer that if you
have not Believed on
Jesus Christ,
that you will before
you draw your
last breath and depart
from
this
earth, and
step out in to
eternity.
John 8:32
And ye shall know the truth, and the truth
shall make you
free.
1 Timothy 1:16
Howbeit for this cause I obtained mercy, that
in me first Jesus
Christ might shew
forth all
longsuffering, for a
pattern
to them which should
hereafter
believe on him to life
everlasting.
Act 16:31
And
they said, Believe on
the Lord Jesus
Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy
house.
Romans
10:10
For with the heart man believeth unto
righteousness; and with the
mouth
confession is made unto
salvation.
