Forgiveness Of Sin
QUESTION: How much of your past (or
future) sins is God willing to forgive?
II Peter 3:9 The Lord is not slack concerning his
promise, as some men count slackness; but is
longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any
should perish, but that all should
come to repentance.
Psalm 103:11-14 For as the heaven is high
above the earth, so great is his mercy toward them that
fear him, As far as the east is from the west,
so far hath he removed our transgressions from us.
Like as a father pitieth his children, so the Lord
pitieth them that fear him. For he knoweth our frame; he
remembereth that we are dust.
Romans 5:18-19 Therefore as by the offence of one
judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by
the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men
unto justification of life. For as by one man's
disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience
of one shall many be made righteous.
Micah 7:18 Who is a God like unto thee, that
pardoneth iniquity, and passeth by the transgression of
the remnant of his heritage? he retaineth not his anger
for ever, because he delighteth in mercy.
A look at Romans 5:18-19
Romans 5:18-19
Adam ---------------- Therefore as by the offence of one
All -------------------- judgment came upon all men to
condemnation;
Christ Jesus --------- even so by the righteousness of
one
All -------------------- the free gift came upon all men
unto justification of life.
Adam ---------------- For as by one man's disobedience
All -------------------- many were made sinners,
Christ Jesus --------- so by the obedience of one
The Saved ----------- shall many be made righteous.
Hebrews 8:12 For I will be merciful to
their unrighteousness, and their
sins and their iniquities will I remember no more.
Hebrews 10:17 And their sins and iniquities will I
remember no more.
Romans 11:27 For this is my covenant unto them,
when I shall take away their sins.
II Chronicles 7:14 If my people, which are
called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and
seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways;
then will I hear from heaven, and will
forgive their sins, and will heal their
land.
Jeremiah 50:20 In those days, and in that time,
saith the LORD, the iniquity of Israel shall be sought
for, and there shall be none; and the sins of
Judah, and they shall not be found: for I will pardon
them whom I reserve.
Jeremiah 31:34 And they shall teach no more every
man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying,
Know the LORD: for they shall all know me, from the least
of them unto the greatest of them, saith the LORD: for I
will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their
sin no more.
Isaiah 43:25 I, even I, am he that blotteth out
thy transgressions for mine own sake, and will not
remember thy sins.
Isaiah 38:17 Behold, for peace I had great
bitterness: but thou hast in love to my soul delivered it
from the pit of corruption: for thou hast cast all my
sins behind thy back.
Isaiah 44:22 I have blotted out, as a thick
cloud, thy transgressions, and, as a
cloud, thy sins: return unto Me; for
I have redeemed thee.
Thus saith the Lord God of Israel.
John 6:37 All that the Father giveth me shall come
to me; and him that cometh to me I will in
no wise cast out.
John 8:24 I said therefore unto you, that ye
shall die in your sins: for if ye
believe not that I am he, ye shall die in
your sins.
John 8:34-36 Verily, verily, I say unto you,
Whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin. And the
servant abideth not in the house for ever: but the Son
abideth ever. IF THE SON THEREFORE SHALL MAKE
YOU FREE, YE SHALL BE FREE INDEED.
II Corinthians 54:21 For he hath made him to
be sin for us, who knew no sin; that
we might be made the righteousness of God in
him.
Acts 13:38-39 Be it known unto you therefore, men
and brethren, that THROUGH THIS MAN (Jesus Christ)
is preached unto you the forgiveness of sins:
by him all that believe are justified from all things,
from which ye could not be justified by the law of Moses.
NOTE: There is total and absolute forgiveness
of sin in Jesus Christ. Apart from Jesus Christ
there is no forgiveness of sin.
Mercy - Not getting the BAD you deserve
Grace - Getting the GOOD you don't deserve
Isaiah 1:18-20 Come now, and let us reason
together, saith the Lord: though your sins be as
scarlet, they shall be as white as snow;
though they be red like crimson, they shall
be as wool. If ye be willing and obedient,
ye shall eat the good of the land: But if ye refuse and
rebel, ye shall be devoured with the sword: for the mouth
of the Lord hath spoken it.
NOTE: If you don't know Jesus Christ, you don't
know God. If you don't know Jesus Christ, God
doesn't know you.
Ezekiel 33:11a Say unto them, As I live, saith the
Lord God, I have no pleasure in the death of the
wicked; but that the wicked turn from his way and
live: turn ye, turn ye from your evil ways;
for why will ye die,...
ANSWER: He is willing to forgive any
and all of your sins if you receive His Son as your Lord
and Saviour.
Romans 10:9-13 That if thou shalt confess with
thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in
thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead,
thou shalt be saved. For with the heart
man believeth unto righteousness; and with the
mouth confession is made unto salvation.
For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall
not be ashamed. For there is no difference between the
Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich
unto all that call upon him.
For whosoever shall call upon the name of
the Lord shall be saved.
NOTE: His name is "Jesus Christ."
Matthew 11:28-30 Come unto me, all ye that labour
and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my
yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly
in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my
yoke is easy, and my burden is light.
I John 1:4-19 And
THESE THINGS WRITE WE UNTO YOU,
THAT YOUR JOY MAY BE FULL.
This then is the message which we have heard of him, and
declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no
darkness at all. If we say that we have fellowship with
him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth:
But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we
have fellowship one with another, and
THE BLOOD OF JESUS CHRIST HIS SON
CLEANSETH US FROM ALL SIN.
If we say that we have no sin,
we deceive ourselves,
and the truth is not in us. If
we confess our sins,
he is faithful and just to
forgive us our sins,
and to
CLEANSE US FROM ALL UNRIGHTEOUSNESS.
If we say that we have not sinned,
we make him a liar,
and his word is not in us.
